OFF - Of Control, Rings, and The Batter

** WARNING: THIS IS ALL JUST PURE SPECULATION TO EXPLORE, EXERCISE, AND ENJOY THE POSSIBLE HIDDEN MEANINGS IN THIS GAME! IT IS NOT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY, OR LITERALLY, OR TO BE TAKEN AS FACT AND TRUTH! **

One must wonder: why choose rings for the Add-Ons? It could be that rings represents shape of circles, represents a circuit, neither beginning, or end, and symbolizes perfection as well as eternity. It could also not be by accident that they might even look like halos (especially Alpha behind the Batter's head). Coincidentally they're named Alpha, Omega, and Epsilon. Besides having them rooted in the Greek alphabet, I'll just dance out on a limb here and remind some folks that in the Bible God had declared to be the "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and last." (Revelation 22:13)...and given that the Batter is on a mission to "purify" everything of specters, and evils in this world, it should raise some debates as to the probable connections of it all. As for Epsilon? Your guess is as good as mine. As far as I can throw a stone at the moment, 3 was a nice number and named after the visible Epsilon ring of Saturn.

Judge at the beginning is the first to see through the Batter as being the Puppet and address you: the Puppeteer. You control the Batter as he goes on his quest to rid the hostiles. It may have come to notice that the Batter is of flesh and blood as the Judge says, therefore human, but he lacks the capability of displaying himself as a human being with feelings. He has a conscience, he has freewill, but he also seems to have only rationality. My point being is that the Batter doesn't show, nor does it seem like he feels fear, (as we've seen with frantic Elsens) or any emotional reservations. You, as the Puppeteer, provides the Batter with that missing piece of empathy that completes him as an actual human being, thus my symbolism of the blood on the strings from some unforeseen presence above.

You may have noticed the portal page's X when you start up the game taking place of the Batter's shadow down below. To put it into a different light, it is not a simple 'X' letter, but a Puppeteer's control bar. It is a shadow of you, the player. However, there is a faint indication of another set of strings rising up from his shadow on the stage. For those who have finished the game: who really is the Puppet, and who really is the Puppeteer?
